Murkitt Shines Out In The Sticks

Hythe & Dibden travelled through the for a first ever friendly @ Woodgreen.

The homeside were missing several league players so elected to field first against a Hythe side with a mix of 2s, 3s & 4s.

Hythe couldnt have got off to a worst start with Harry Parker & Tariq Iqbal both out for ducks and when Lenny was run out for 11 Hythe were struggling at 20-3 which became 35-4 with the loss of Sanderson 5.

Andy Murkitt & Shaun Moss though had been in excellent form throughout August so it was no surprize when they added 66 for the 5th wicket ~ Moss out for 22.

Murkitt went onto make 61 and with support from Dan Duell 16 & Tom Jones 11* ~ Hythe ended on 154-8.

Woodgreen were soon in trouble as Tom Jones & Dan Duell showed good pace. Duell claimed the early wicket of Ed Nash for 0 before Jones claimed the next 3 wickets. If it wasnt for Ed Foster 21 Hythe would have had no resistance and the homeside were all out for a disappoinitng 55.

For Hythe Tom Jones 3-12. Kev McCarthy took 2-2 and George Sanderson 2-9.
