Dan's The Man As Hythe Record Last Ball Win

Hythe & Dibden opened their Indoor League campaign with a 1 wicket win over Sway @ Fleming Park.

In a high scoring game ~ sixes on the last two balls of the game by Dan Taylor earned them a hard fought victory.

Sway batted first and hit a above par 156-1 thanks to scores from 5 for their 6 players. George Lewis retired 29* , Steve Drayton 27* and Dan Stevenson 25* ~ Dave Marshall hit 25* and Steve Hannibal 20*. So who suffered most with their bowling ~ Poor old Kev McCarthy went for 39 whilst Aaron Oliver got hit for 46. Jonjo was the most economical going for 10 but then he did bowl just the 1 over.

So Hythe had a challenge and opened up with Lenny and Jonjo. Lenny didnt last long going for 6. Jonjo and Dan Taylor both batted well ~ retired to keep Hythe in the game. Aaron Oliver made 19 ~ chasing the runs he was caught & bowled by Steve Drayton.

TJ drained from his M&S shift went for a duck whilst Kev McCarthy was run out by Dan Stevenson for 7. That brought back Stovell & Taylor. Jonjo made it to 38  before he was caught off Ollie Marshall. That left it to Dan The Man to guide us home for a good win.

Sadly the following week Hythe were due to play CooperVision but the opposition withdrew mid afternoon as they could not raise a side.

RESULT : Hythe & Dibden Beat Sway by 1 Wkt
