Hythe First Winners of Craft Cup
H&D beat Burley by 8 Wkts in the first New Forest Craft Cup Final last Monday Evening.
Played at Lymington ~ Hythe won the toss and elected to field first.
A fine bowling display Hythe reduced Burley to 105-7 off their 15 overs. 13 year old Ollie Dixon took 3-21 whilst there were also wickets for Yasin, Hussain & Nicholas.
Jonjo Stovell 15 & Liaqat Hussain put on 63 for Hythe's first wicket. Hussain went onto make a fine 58 before falling with the score on 80-2. His innings inc 4x4s & 4x6s.
Arslan Yasin 23* & Alex Nicholas 11* saw Hythe home comfortably with 15 balls remaining.
A welcome win after a very tricky couple of seasons.
Alex Nicholas was the top Batsman in the Competition scoring 100 Runs, Jonjo Stovell 77 finished 3rd.
With the Ball ~ Ollie Dixon was Bowler of the Competition with 5 wkts @ 8.40. Alex Nicholas was 4th with 3 wkts @ 24.00
It was Hythe's first New Forest Cup win since 2007
