H&D Suffer First Woodhouse Defeat In 2 Years

Woodhouse Trophy matches returned to Jones Lane on Sunday with Hythe taking on old rivals Sway. Dan Duell was again skipper looking to win the trophy for the second consecutive season.

However Sway had different ideas and their excellent bunch of youngsters skittled Hythe out for just 139. Hythe did have some pluses ~ 10 year old Billy Parry opened the innings and showed why he has a good future scoring 10.

Ben Holbrook scored a valuable 20 but it was Dan Jones who stole the show with his first H&D fifty with 67.

For Sway Tom O'Callaghan destroyed Hythe's middle order with 3-12.

Sway lost two early wickets thanks to a Lex Vaughan run out and Dan Jones dismissing Oscar Hudson (who scored a ton last year)  for 11. Ollie Marshall 20 & Noah Glass steadied the ship for Sway adding 60 for the 3rd wicket.

Hythe stayed in the game Ben Holbrook & Billy Parry taking two wickets a piece but in the end 139 wasnt enough and Sway got home with 2 wickets spare.
