Hythe & Dibden 2nd XI vs Burley

A depleted H&D 2nd XI was well beaten by 45 runs in this opening friendly vs Burley on Saturday.

The visitors batted first and both openers Hudson & Martin retired after scoring half centuries.

Hythe's first breakthrough came when Martin Duell had James Brown caught behind for 2 but despite Burley losing further wickets Edworthy 25 & Hatton 50* saw Burley to 208-7. Hythe captain Sam Redford ended with 4 for 25 whilst Martin Duell & Chalky White bowled well.

Hythe's reply was based around opener Fabio Roberts who carried his bat for 49*. Despite a good opening stand with Martin Duell 22 wickets then tumbled at an alarming rate.

Tom Jones 24, Zac Moss 17 & Sachin Avril 20* did add some respectability to the chase but Hythe ran out second best.
