4s Step Up To Take On 3s Fixtures But Find It Tough
What a week ~Murky decides we need to cancel the 3rd team game because he only has 4 players. Electing not to tell us the Captain & Vice Captain were playing for the 2s.
Up steps Super Kev to fins a 4th team to take on the 3 tough fixtures in the 3rd Team League and the opening game couldnt get any tougher against Hampshire Champs Bashley Rydal 3s.
However the superb setting of Bashley Park and a nice day made it all worth while. Kev captained in the absence of Mossy and saw his side hit for 267-4 off their 40 overs.
Could have been a lot more but the lads did well. Only trouble is - is when Kev Captains he looks after everyone else before himself. So when he took 2 wickets at the end all questions were asked especially when he bowled 9 bowlers in total.
Hythe then batted for pride and despite losing Lenny & Harry Parker early ~ they dug in through newbie Tariq Islam 39 & Wayne Effeny 29.
Jack Knight Owen later made 25, Jamie Fletcher 23 as Hythe finished on 165 all out but a decent effort.
Well done to Bashley who made us welcome and despite their 1st team not having a game ~ kept to their 3rd team players.
RESULT : Bashley Rydal 3s Beat Hythe & Dibden 3rd XI by 102 Runs
