This year our AGM will be held online, in order to attend on Google Meet you will need to receive an invitation via email. You do not need to download a programme – all you need is an internet link and email address. Please confirm your intention to attend the AGM via email to the club Secretary on email@example.com or Chairman on firstname.lastname@example.org and an invite will be emailed to you.
We will still be time limited (60 minutes) so, if you wish to raise an objection to one of the proposals below or nominate yourself, we ask you to please do this prior to the meeting via the two email addresses above, please submit your objection/nomination by 5.00 p.m. Wednesday 3rd Feb, any objection can be read out anonymously if preferred.
We’re hoping there will be time for a few questions at the end of the meeting but would also ask you to please submit those via email before 5.00 p.m. Wednesday 3rd Feb so we can research the answer and deal with them quickly, again, these can be anonymous if preferred.
The committee’s proposals for the 2021 season are outlined below, unless an objection is raised the proposal can be carried by ‘unanimous consent’; apologies that we’re having to do it this way but, like everything else at the moment, we’re having to adapt to the rules, and we feel this is the only viable way we can hold the meeting this year. The majority of the league AGM’s and club AGM’s have been run successfully using this format.

Reports from the Chairman, Secretary, Welfare, Social, W10 are attached, these, and all other reports will be available on the website prior to the meeting. No Captains reports for 2020.
Committee Positions –
All of the core committee members are prepared to stand again for 2021 season:
Chairman of Selectors, Selection Committee and Selection Policy
For the 2021 season the club will resume the selection committee made up of all Captains and a Chairman. It is intended that all Captains check with their players on a Saturday for their availability the following week and bring those names to a Selection meeting early in the week to firm up the teams using the club’s selection policy. In the event of any dispute the Chairman of Selectors (name tbc) will make the final decision.
Those that paid a full membership last year will only be asked to pay £10 for 2021 season, anyone who only paid £10 for playing last year will be asked to pay full amount if we get a full season for 2021. Fees to be kept the same as 2020 – full playing membership £75, match fees £12/£6 for Colts. If we have another ‘Covid’ season this will be reviewed. We are grateful to all those who donated their full membership last year.
For 2021 season all Colts will be given free registration (but will continue to pay match fees), this is to encourage our Colts who may have gone off to do other things during last summer to come back to playing cricket and thank those that played last year.
Armed Forces Covenant
We are pleased to announce that we have signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant, it is believed we are the first amateur sports club to do this. Signing the covenant demonstrates that we welcome all members of the armed forces, agree to treat them fairly, whether players or family members, allow for them to fulfil their duties in the forces and include them fully in all our club activities.
We are regularly receiving updates from ECB, Hampshire and the leagues and will let you know as soon as there is any announcement regarding this season.
Currently the Hampshire League commences on 8th May and the SPL on 1st May (although currently considering putting it back a week to 8th.)
